A B O U T
Hi, I'm Zoe a freelance makeup artist based in Wellington, NZ. I've been working in the industry for a wee while now and making over faces is something I love to do.
From early on I loved to draw and was naturally my favourite subject at school. I eventually ended up studying Fine Arts and Design at Massey qualifying with a Degree in Illustration. After a few years as an Illustrator, I decided I much preferred painting on faces than computers, moving from one canvas to the other having never looked back!

In recent years I have been managing a small collective of on location bridal and special event makeup and hair specialists who service the Wellington region and beyond. We hope to appeal to the modern bride and would describe our style as chic, individual & elevated.
We are obsessed with the finer details and love working closely with our clients to create their ideal look with trusted brands and products that are known for their quality, longevity and ability to look great on camera and in person. Our team are highly regarded in the industry, exceptionally talented at their crafts, and most importantly go the extra mile on your big day.

Y O U R P R E V I E W . . .
You are all locked in for your wedding day and are now looking to schedule a preview. We understand that this is not always an option but would highly recommend having one.
Why should I book a preview?
It will give you added confidence and peace of mind for both yourself and stylist on your wedding day.
When should I book in my preview?
We would suggest 1-2 months before your wedding day, so you have a clear idea of your look and style.
Your preview would ideally take place after you have chosen your wedding dress so we can discuss your inspiration and requirements to compliment the neckline of your dress.
How long will it take?
A standard makeup and hair preview will take 2.5 to 3 hours. If you are wanting to try more than one style, we suggest booking in for a second preview.
What should I expect?
At your trial we can discuss all the finer details such as whether you and your bridesmaids would like eyelashes, lip kits, flower crowns and the time frame etc.
We always take photos and notes from your trial to use as a reference for the actual day.
Where does it usually take place?
Trials usually take place at our stylist's home studios.
On the rare occasion we can travel to you. If so we would ideally need a space with good natural light, a table to work from and access to a power point for hot hairstyling tools. Bonus points if you have an available car park for us to use!
We are pretty flexible and will try to work in with you.
Who can I bring?
Feel free to bring along one of your bridesmaids, a friend, family member or just yourself!
What should I do to prepare for my preview?
Collect reference photos that match your own hair colour, length and thickness. Feel free to send these photos through prior to your appointment so
that we can discuss the ideas and styles that you have in mind. If you are thinking about having extensions, make sure to bring these along.
Hair Preparation: Make sure to wash and completely dry your hair the night before (wash hair twice and lightly condition the mid lengths to ends only)
If your hair type is oily, please feel free to wash the morning of. Ensure it is product free and try to avoid serums, hair masks, smoothing creams and oils.
Apply heat protection and blow dry hair smooth, but don't worry too much it does not need to be a professional blow-dry!
Please note it is very important to have completely dry hair at your session and to avoid using a straightening iron as this will affect the hold of the curl.
Makeup Preparation: Cleansed, exfoliated and moisturized skin or normal skincare routine is fine. If you don't have a moisturizer, we have some beauties in our kit for you to try.

Q & A
Will there be both a makeup artist and hair stylist on my wedding day?
YES! 9 times out of 10 we will arrange for 2 stylists to pamper you and your bridal party on your big day. If your party is very large, we sometimes call on more stylists. The advantages of having a duo styling team means you will be in great hands as the stylist will be an expert in their chosen field. Timing is also very important on your wedding day, we want you to sit back and relax knowing that you will be ready with plenty of time to spare! Sometimes there may be an exception to the rule (bride only or a very small bridal party) we will then select a stylist for you who is very experienced in both areas.
How long will makeup and hair take on my wedding day?
We usually like to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to starting. We like to allow up to one hour per service, this can sometimes take less or slightly more depending on each client. We always aim to have you and your bridal party ready at least one hour before your ceremony.
